“ I had seen this place as I was walking around International District a while ago and really wanted to try it out. Going into the restaurant, it was fairly spacious and there was a lot of seating. We got seated fairly quickly and told to order on an iPad. The layout is pretty similar to Dolar Shop if you've been there. There is an individual pot for each person, but you share the meats, veggies, etc. Now, this has got to be my favorite hotpot shop in Seattle--the quality is on par with Dolar Shop for a fraction of the price point. Their broths are all delicious and their wagyu meat quality is amazing. Their sauce bar is much more extensive and there are so many options to customize your sauce. Service is so nice, quick, and attentive (IMMEDIATELY after spilling something on myself, before I could even look up, I was given napkins). I would love to come back here again with more friends and family, and it will definitely be the go-to hotpot spot in Seattle now. ”

“ The hot pot scene in International District has been popping off. It's so competitive and I feel like a new place is opening up every quarter. Crazy Monk is one of the newer addition in the area. Pro: - Easy parking. It's paid but that's fine. - The Qiaojiao beef broth was very tasty and unique. I opted for unlimited refills for the tendons and tripe, and the servers were very proactive about the refills. - nice presentation of food - sauce bar is well stocked Con: - 1 broth only. As much as I love spicy broth, I never put my veggies in it. I wish it had an option to do half and half. - Some seating areas are extremely crammed and poorly designed. I sat half way in my chair the whole time because if I sit fully in, my head was going to touch the guy behind me. It was awkward getting in and out. MeetFresh is next door, which was very dangerous to know. Luckily I only found out after stuffing my stomach with food and left no room for dessert. This one may be one of my top 5, but not one of top 3 favorite hot pot places in Seattle. I appreciate the healthy competition amongst all the hot pot places--keep it up. ”

“ Yay, another hot pot option in Seattle. You currently get 30% off if you show them your Amazon employee badge, try to recruit somebody that still works there before their stocks vest because most likely they'll quit shortly after. Location is a bit inconvenient for me to get to, but there is a paid parking lot right next to it so you don't have to circle around these very steep hills for street parking. The set up of the hot pot is similar to Dolar Shop without the price tag of Dolar Shop, it's an individual broth but shared communal ingredients which I like because that way everybody else can order and eat seafood without it dipping in my broth. They had a few unique broths that I haven't seen in other places such as yellow tomato broth. The sauce bar is comparable to Dolar And Hai Di Lao's, lots of sauces and garnishes to mix and match to your palette. “ outstanding service. High quality beef especially the wagyu selection. Love the ambiance and decor. Parking is not so great but there is a paid parking lot next to the restaurant. The bathroom is VERY clean also for those who wants to know the bathroom situation The restaurant is very spacious with a high ceiling, you can enjoy the meal and walk away without leaving the hotpot smell on your clothes. This is my TOP hotpot restaurant in the Seattle area. I HIGHLY recommend coming here. Perfect way for a treat ”

“ The newest Chinese Hotpot in Seattle's International District, is making a mark with the quality and service to rival its competitors. Xiong Qi Gong or Crazy Monk specializes in their beef hotpot. This chain has originated in Shanghai and are offering fusion dishes as well as their traditional dishes like Qiao jiao Beef broth. The menu features a variety of cuts of Wagyu beef, pork lamb and chicken. Yet they also provide some more unfamiliar dishes like Duck Blood cubes, Goose Intestines and Boneless Duck Feet. You can make reservations on Yelp (recommended) which saves lots of time. Mind you, although they have a table that can fit 6 broth pots, the seats are a lot larger then the area that you need to be able eat comfortably So parties of 4 or less is probably best. Ordering is simply via QR code. But it can get messy when you have 6 people ordering differing items at the same time and if you don't eat the same items that your friends do. Crazy Monk offers 5 different soup bases from you to choose from, including their famous Qiao jiao Beef Broth. All the broths were $7.50 except the Spicy Beef Oil Base ($8.65). When you 'check-in' on Yelp, you get 30% off your broth. The sauce bar was an extra $2-3 in addition to everything, but like most hotpot places, you need to make your sauce. They also provided fresh cut up fruit and some mini-salads (Peanut vegetable salad, pickled cabbage) with the sauce bar. Service was pretty good and quick. When someone was missing a broth, our waiter would quickly go to the back and bring it out. Along with refilling the soup when it was getting low. The aesthetics of the interior is striking thanks to the large colorful manhua pages jumping out at you. Overall Crazy Monk has a lot of great things going for it. It can definitely get pricey the more you (or your friends) order. But this is a great and welcoming choice if your getting and craving that delicious hotpot goodness. **NOTE**On the Yelp page they advertise a Shabu Shabu Set Menu. I'm unsure what that details since their website isn't that helpful (plus no accurate pictures), but it seems to include a broth, vegetable platter and 20 different ingredients (I'm guessing) you can choose from. No price listed anywhere. ”

“ Large, bright, and beautifully decorated interior! I love the murals on the walls and how it incorporates the Asian culture. Food: -wagyu chuck set w/vermicelli -wagyu short rib set w/rice -pork belly set w/rice -hot pot noodles Everything was really good!! The sets come w/a meat, basket of assorted veggies, a side, and the sauce bar for ~$25.99-$27.99! Absolutely worth it and a bargain for the quality. I didn't really like my spicy beef oil 4 star broth because it only tasted like straight chili oil. My friends LOVED the mushroom broth & Qiaojiao beef broth. I'll try the beef broth next! Service: Very attentive and friendly staff. They explained everything and was available for suggestions and questions. Street parking! ”

“ Crazy Monk is good for that hot pot craving! It seems like there is a nexus of hot pot in the CID. This is the newest venue opening up last month. Handy ordering system on iPad as is becoming the standard for hot pot joints. It is not an all you can eat place and they do offer some premium cuts like wagyu if you want to go big time baller and the price tag of your meal can get steep. but also offers organ meats for the more adventurous eaters. The individual size pots are great for keeping your eating personalized! I went with the spicy beef oil which did bring on the burn! Hurt so good! Sauce bar also had some interesting savory snacks like roasted peanuts and cheeto balls. Went with the mixed veg, mixed mushroom, wagyu short rib and Angus beef and lamb plate. Quality of meats are good and veg was fresh and nicely presented. Space I'd modern and clean. Staff was great and quite attentive. Parking is always a pain in this area although I believe there is a pay lot adjacent to the place. Go get your hot pot on! ”

“ A pricier place for hot pot, but the quality of veggies, meats, and seafood items more than justified it. · We all ordered the qiaojiao beef soup base which was refreshing with the clear broth and was packed with aromatic flavors! · For protein, I don't recall which two items we exactly ordered, but they were both beef and were incredibly tender! After cooking the beef, we were instructed to dip into the egg dipping sauce, which was creamy and well-seasoned. It was such a fun and cool experience since I've been to so many hot pot places before, but haven't tried this type of combo. · The bamboo fungus shrimp slide was also so delicious! I am usually not a fan of bamboo, but changed my mind about bamboo lol after trying it here. It reminded me of a shrimp dumpling as the shrimp filling was encased by a slightly crunchy bamboo. · We also ordered the vegetable combo which had a great assortment of fresh leafy greens and yam noodles which were very QQ. The interior design of the restaurant was eye-catching, with fun decorations and visuals, including the display of the hot pot ceramics! Lastly, the staff was elite haha (Lisa + Justin + the manager). They were so friendly and fun to talk to during our dine in and super attentive! We had our waters filled multiple times and when our pots were low on broth, they would immediately fill them up! Even when I was at the sauce bar, I noticed the staff would always be cleaning and organizing the area. p.s. the watermelon at the sauce bar was so sweet and juicy, making it the perfect end to our hot pot night! ”

“ New hot pot spot in Seattle! Crazy Monk opened up recently and as a hot pot lover, I definitely had to go check it out. I loved the cool artwork inside. This is not an all you can eat hotpot experience, you pay per each plate of ingredient you choose so it could add up. Everything is ordered right from your mobile phone which makes it nice and convenient. The fresh ingredients and meat selections were good quality and the broths were decent. I had the mushroom broth and I wish it was just a bit more flavorful, it was pretty light for my taste. They take reservations for parties of 4 or more and are currently doing a promotion for 30% off their broths. ”
